Our Story

Our Beginnings are like those of many an aquarium hobbyist. Once upon a time there was a goldfish, won it by tossing a ping pong ball into a tiny cup at school, poor thing, I was 7 and had not a clue, we all know how this ended.

Later, a birthday gift of a ten-gallon aquarium was given, many a zebra danio figured out we had no sense of the nitrogen cycle as a 10-year-old.

We persisted, because it fascinated us. We struggled, we learned. There were successes and failures. We did dumb things and tried to not do them twice.

Eventually we sort of got the hang of it all and figured out how to reproduce some of these fish. Baby fish are the best teachers; you are drawn to them and want to help them to grow into big fish and the next thing you know you sure do have a lot of them.

One day you figure out that someone else would like some of your fish, then a few more folks want some, you use the couple of dollars to buy a few more fish aquariums so you can have just a bit more room…. then a few more….and a couple of more. You try to hide them until one day the electric bill comes along and it has tripled…. oops.

You go from hiding tanks on Mom to some day hiding tanks from the spouse…they all eventually discover your secret hiding spots, the bubbles sort of give it away……

You get a job at an aquarium store…you spend every dollar on the products you are selling. You are a kid in an aquarium store……

You decide to open a fish store…because then the electric bills are deductible…..

You join clubs and societies, organizations and groups and breed all sorts of different fish, you sell and trade many fish to others.……

You leave the hobby for a bit to do other things and let life get in the way…as it should.

All the while you go into and out of the aquarium hobby the world around you evolves and along with it so do the many varieties of fish available and the many differing colors of angelfish. You even help to develop some yourself.

Fish keeping offers a peaceful respite from the stress of life, a place to escape into as you watch the fish gracefully swim through their tranquil environment.

Sure, it can be a bit of work to keep an aquarium but with experience and knowledge it becomes easier.

One day you become very serious about your passion, you want to do what you love.

Fortunately, you have the support of those around you………

You set up a little place where magic can happen…….

And a way to share that magic with others.

Congratulations friends, you have found the place where we choose to share the magic.
